Self-confidence doesn’t have to come from any outside validation; it can come from how you feel about yourself and what you can do in life. Sometimes you need to give yourself more credit and recognize that you are a great person.

It can be challenging to be confident, especially in a world that has a lot of opinions on how we should look and act. That doesn’t mean that it isn’t possible to teach yourself how to be confident.

Work On Being Positive

Negativity can really affect how you feel about yourself, even if you tell yourself that you are joking. If there are things you don’t like about your body, take the time to complement the things that you do like.

If you are worried about all the things that could go wrong in your day, try to switch your mindset and focus on the things that could go right. Positivity can energize you and allow you to go through life with a spring in your step.

Fake it….To a Point

You've heard of the phrase “Fake it to make it” and while it can be true to some extent, it's not something to do constantly. However, sometimes if you fake your reaction or how you feel in a situation, you can eventually calm your nerves and build up your self-confidence

If you don’t feel confident in a situation, pretend that you do. Make eye contact with people you are talking to, ensure that you are stood up straight. Adjusting your body language can make everybody else believe that you are confident, so you feel confident.

If you feel like you are in an awkward situation, try to ask questions, because it will seem that you are taking charge even if you let the other person do all the talking. Making little changes to how you act can allow you to fake your self-confidence, and before you know it, you will no longer be faking it.

Change What You Control

If you know you have the power to change something, do it. If you want to eat healthier, eat more healthy, if you need to make more time to destress, do it. If you want to change your hair or buy clothes that make you feel more confident, go for it! If you want to learn how to do a new skill, enroll in a class or look stuff up online.

Body image is something that even the most confident has issues with. If your self-confidence is taking a hit, you can do simple things to help boost yourself up. There are plenty of things in our lives that we can’t change, so if something is bothering you that you can do something about, change it. You can also change who you hang around with. Yoga is a great exercise that can help you relax, stretch your muscles while condition them.. It teaches you patience, breathing, control, posture, and balance, and much more. I tend to do a lot of my meditation while practicing my yoga stances. Which I need to get back to doing again.

It can also allow you to push yourself. The more you train, the stronger you will get, and the further you will be able to run. Your body will be able to do things that you never thought possible. Challenging yourself and learning about all the things you can do that you didn’t know possible could make your confidence soar.
