When I lost my mother almost 2 years ago. Everyone kept telling me, “Time heals all wounds.” That may be true, however, there is NOTHING that will heal the wound of losing a parent.
I recently had hysterectomy surgery.
It's something that my husband and I talked about quite often since we lost my mom. She was supposed to get one at my age, but she was “too busy raising kids” and she didn't want to have to take time off work in order to heal.
There was one problem with her thinking.
25yrs later, we found out she had Endometrial Cancer. That cancer (if you're not familiar with the type) plaques the ovaries, uterus, fallopian tubes, and cervix. Her cancer was so bad, she underwent at least 10 surgeries within 3 years because the tumors were so large that whenever they tried to remove them, the would cut or nick another organ in her abdomen. She also underwent at least 2 rounds of chemo & radiation. One was a “cutting edge” radiation that was supposed to completely blast cancer. Unfortunately, instead of blasting cancer away, it made it move into other parts of her body.
My mom battled Endometrial Cancer for 3 1/2 years. She fought long and hard down to her very last days. I'll never forget holding her hand the night before she passed and hearing her very lightly whisper “I love you” with a tear running down her tired and worn down cheeks. That's when I told her:
“Mom, stop fighting. We'll be okay! Grandma & Grandpa are waiting for you! Go join them. It's time!”

I am a wife, mother (to both human & furry), daughter, sister, and blogger. I grew up in a semi-suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. In October 2013 I married the love of my life and in July 2018 we bought our first home in a small little country town about 45 minutes away from our hometown.
My belief is that someone is always needing a little help in various aspects of their life and I'm that chick who will help. On my website, you will find a variety of topics that primarily center around parenting teen sons, finances, crafting, DIY, food & drink, a little beauty & fashion, and I talk a lot about mental health.
